YES Trainings

PRC Retreat May 2010 (15)YES faculty and staff are travelling around the country to train community organizations and health departments on the YES curriculum.

Striving to Reduce Youth Violence Everywhere (STRYVE), is a national youth violence prevention initiative led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (http://vetoviolence.cdc.gov/stryve/).  Four cities (Houston, TX, Boston, MA, Salinas, CA and Portland, OR),  are carrying out community-level violence prevention strategies that are led by the local health departments.  These communities have all chosen to implement YES as a component of those approaches.  We are training staff from multiple organizations in each city to lead YES programs.  The training began with webinars for STRYVE program leaders, followed by on-site sessions for front-line program staff.  The trainers will continue to provide technical assistance to the STRYVE sites as they implement the curriculum and carry out their community improvement projects.

We have also provided YES training for multiple organizations in Milwaukee, WI, including the COA Youth and Family Centers.
