  • What is YES?
    YES is a theory- based program designed to empower youth to be leaders and create positive change in their communities.  Learn more about Youth Empowerment Solutions program and history.
  • Theory
    YES uses an empowering ecologically-focused, community-based strategy to promote positive youth development and reduce risk behavior. Learn more about the underlying theory for the YES program. 
  • YES Studies
    The YES curriculum has undergone pilot testing, evaluation, and revision based on participant feedback during a four year developmental grant from the Centers for Disease Control. YES is currently being tested in a randomized controlled trial funded by the National Institutes of Health. Learn more about the YES evaluation studies and outcomes. 
  • Publications
    View our peer-reviewed publications on the development of the YES curriculum and YES outcomes.
  • Evaluation
    We have developed several measurement tools to evaluate the effects of the YES program including pre- and post-test questionnaires, a process evaluation questionnaire, fidelity observation  forms, and teacher logs.  Evaluation materials are available for download through the University of Michigan TechTransfer website.
